History of the Vedic Dharma

Historically, the history of the Vedic dharma originates in the verses of the Rig Veda. The Rig Veda (sometimes called the “Rg Veda”) is one of the oldest writings known to human civilization. Some commentators have placed the origins of the Rg Veda to the epoch before the age we live in today. Some have placed their origins from 3,000 B.C.E. to 10,000 B.C.E. The verses found in the Rg Veda are cryptic and sometimes incomplete.

This is where this book in particular and every title of this series comes in. This is why this book and the other books in this series fill in the blanks from other Vedic scriptures. The Vedic Dharma searches the entire breadth of Hindu scriptures --- the Brahmanas, Aranyakas, and Upanishads, all later writings --- to present a coherent picture of the Vedic dharma and the path to personal liberation.
